Open a work order and select Plan equipment reservation. An authorised planner can search and page through portable equipment, destination sites and responsible members. Choose a start and end time; browser-local times are stored in UTC.
Save draft reservation retains a proposal. Draft planning can overlap other bookings and shows clashes or validity warnings. Confirm reservation reserves the equipment and rejects overlap with an existing confirmed reservation. Two adjacent windows are allowed: one may end exactly when the next begins. Concurrent confirmations are resolved by the server; a rejected request retains the draft for adjustment.
Review warnings before confirmation. A booking never certifies future fitness. Expected expiry during the booked period is shown and actual fitness and authorisation are rechecked at work start.
Only draft reservations can be edited. A reservation whose end time has already passed cannot be confirmed. To change a confirmed booking, cancel it with a reason and create a replacement; cancelled reservations cannot be restored.
Use Edit reservation to change a draft's destination, responsible member or time window. Its equipment and work order stay fixed. To reserve different equipment or move the booking to another work order, cancel the original and create a new reservation.
Use Cancel reservation and record a reason to release a draft or confirmed booking. Confirmed bookings occupy only their saved start/end window. There is no separate hold-expiry timer; the status and history remain after the window ends. Review obsolete future bookings and cancel them with a reason. The record and cancellation history are retained.
A reservation does not move equipment or rewrite custody history. Movement timestamps describe an actual move and cannot be in the future. Record the movement using the existing equipment workflow when it occurs. If a record changes or confirmation is refused, reload reservations and compare the current booking before trying again.
Choose a reference standard for planned work
When your membership can read reference standards, Plan equipment reservation includes Plan a reference standard. Choose the reservation's start and end times, destination site and responsible member first. Select the measurement quantity and unit, enter the lower and upper planned range limits, then choose Check reference candidates.
The server assesses the reference evidence at the planned start time and checks capability coverage with compatible units. Review the returned calibration, expiry, status, capability ranges and findings. Choose an explicitly eligible candidate to populate Portable equipment, then save and separately confirm the normal reservation. Results are paginated. Missing or expired approved evidence cannot be made eligible by a future initial schedule. Failed checks leave the reservation entries available for retry.
Changing the date, destination, responsible member or measurement filters invalidates this candidate selection; check and choose again. The saved reservation retains the equipment, time, destination and responsible member. The search range is planning guidance, not a persisted calibration scope or execution authority. Review any expiry-during-booking and overlap warnings before confirmation. Work-specific restrictions, actual site/range suitability and the person's method authority are assessed again during controlled work.
